Hola Night Owls & Early Birds One of my favorite things about YouTube are all the old time radio shows to be found.  A treasure trove, really. Been introducing myself to Mr. Chameleon and Casey, Crime Photographer.  And last night listened to an episode of Texas Rangers.  A while back I discovered that Vincent PriceContinue reading “Our Absurd Life: 05/02/22 – Sport Support”

Hola Night Owls & Early Birds It’s the Witching Hour again.  Well, not technically, but it’s late. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always liked staying up late.   But it’s time to climb back in the web. This way I can get up early in the morning and work on more cartoons. UntilContinue reading “Our Absurd Life: 05/01/22 – Housekeeping Hell”

Hola Night Owls & Early Birds Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Went to one of my favorite places today — the library.  Took out a couple audio books which I enjoy listening to while drawing.  Also, dug up a book on spiders, as suggested by my friends Mimi and Lee.  Already, just thumbingContinue reading “Our Absurd Life: 04/30/22 – Union Rules”

Hola Night Owls & Early Birds Been a busy day here, and I hope your own day was busy, too — in a good, creative way. Been doing more driving here.  My family has a van, so it’s nice to be a little higher off the ground.  Still checking out Goodwill for any deals andContinue reading “Our Absurd Life: 04/29/22 – Problem Solver”

Hola Night Owls & Early Birds I hope everybody had a great day! I wish everyone a good night! Until mañana . . . Bring on the spiders! Ian S Florida! http://www.OurAbsurdLife.com P.S. “No rulers were harmed during the making of this cartoon.” “Let’s still be careful out there.”

Hola Night Owls & Early Birds Hope everyone had a great day. Spent most of the day with my mom and dad visiting their friend.  My parents may house-sit a couple days for her.  It seems the woman’s entire house is hooked up to Alexa–completely opposite than what my folks are used to.  As theirContinue reading “Our Absurd Life: 04/27/22 – Games Employees Play”

Hola Night Owls & Early Birds Hope everyone had a great day. I picked up a couple 50% deals at Michaels: the 9X12 Bristol boards I draw my cartoons on, and the Tombow grayscale pens I use for the spiders: #s 65, 75 & 95.  Plus a #15 (black) since it was a deal. LastContinue reading “Our Absurd Life: 04/26/22 – Therapeutic Tag Team”

Hola Night Owls & Early Birds Had a nice talk with my mom a few days ago about keeping things fun while cartooning. While working out the compositional draft for tonight’s offering, I played around with repositioning the dialogue bubbles.  This also opened up the opportunity for being less strict on how I penciled  theContinue reading “Our Absurd Life: 04/25/22 – Food Critic”

Hola Night Owls & Early Birds I hope everyone has had a great Sunday. Look out!  Here comes Monday! Until then. . . Enjoy! Ian S Florida! http://www.OurAbsurdLife.com P.S. “No rulers were harmed during the making of this cartoon.” “Let’s still be careful out there.”

Hola Night Owls & Early Birds I hope everyone’s had a great Saturday.   I picked up some much needed supplies at the Dollar (+25 cents) Tree.  They have the 9X12 paper I use for making the final mock-ups of my cartoons–the draft right before I commit the cartoon to the 9X12 Bristol board.  AlsoContinue reading “Our Absurd Life: 04/23/22 – Tracking Down an Old Friend”
