Hola Family, Friends & those I haven’t met yet
Today’s cartoon idea came to me while standing at the stove. For a while it’s been tucked away in my “To Do” folder.
Usually I put off following through on a particular cartoon because it feels technically daunting. Maybe there’s a design or composition element that I’m not sure how to accurately render, or a prop or set piece — like the stove in this cartoon — that’s hard to convincingly pull off. Oftentimes the dialog has me stymied as I work to build the set-up or nail-down the punchline.
But it has gotten easier over time to run with what I’ve got and not fret over perfection.
Today is Memorial Day. My Uncle Rocco served in World War II and sadly lost his life near the end of his tour. Having grown up hearing stories about him, it would have been great to have one day met him.
Until mañana. . .
