Tonight’s Essential Cartoon pokes fun at myself.
Ever since I was a teen I had tried to roll my R’s when practicing Spanish. 35 years later, I still can’t do it. I can flap my tongue around in my mouth like a flopping fish, but that’s all I can muster. No nicely sounding motorboat R’s for me. I learned tonight it’s actually called an alveolar tap or trill.
Thanks to Miriam for helping me to decide Spaghetti’s gender — female. Tonight’s cartoon clinches it.
