Hola Night Howls (I actually like that, what with the cartoon’s subject matter.)
I hope everyone has had a significant day. Better than an insignificant one, right?
Tonight’s Essential Cartoon brings out my more macabre personality. My first published story was actually an 8-page horror comic book story that I had written 25 years ago — I’m still waiting for the $240 check to arrive in the mail (I think the page rate was supposed to be $30 a page). I should probably stop pestering the mail person about it. That particular comic book publisher went out of business shortly after my debut. It was an extremely exciting experience to get a comic book story published. I still write comic books today and am currently collaborating with a friend from my childhood named Rudolfo Ledesma AKA Rolo in NYC.
He’s a dynamite illustrator and I am always happy to write comic book scripts for his characters.
I wish everyone a happy, healthy rest of your evening.
And if anyone recalls one of my favorite 80’s TV shows called Tales From the Darkside . . .
