I hope everyone’s day went smoothly, calmly and serenely.
It 8:52 pm and I need to draw tomorrow’s Essential Cartoon.
It’s funny, I saw a YouTube video about the creator of the Garfield cat cartoon. Turns out he’s got an assembly line of 3 other people working in his strip. But he’s the only one who gets to sign his name on the cartoon. Hmmmmm.
“Okay, Ian, you ready?”
“Yes, Ian, I’m ready. But first let’s make sure Ian is ready, too. Yo, Ian, you ready?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m ready, just needed to sharpen up a couple pencils. Hey, anybody seen Ian?”
“He’s just finishing up tonight’s Essential Email–Yo, Ian, get a move on, man, we gotta cartoon to crank out!”
“Alright, alright, I’m here, sorry, just was running late.”
“Nowadays we all running late.”
“Come on, Ian, the 4 of us are doing the best we can.”
“I’m hungry.”
“Come on, Ian, you just ate.”
“Alright, guys, no more excuses. It is time to put the pencil to the paper.”
And so the 4 of us wish everyone a safe and restful evening.
